Murphy's Army is a charity registered in England and Wales.  Registered Charity Number 1167823.

Our mission is to reunite lost and stolen pets with their owners, raise pet theft awareness and promote pet safety, welfare and care across the UK. We have a dedicated team of volunteers who are here to help.

If your pet is lost or stolen we can actively assist in the search to find them.  Liaising with you at all times we can produce Lost/Stolen posters, help set up Facebook pages and Twitter accounts,  and arrange local search teams.  We can also assist with funding printed materials, transportation and other related costs. Please read What To Do If Your Pet Goes Missing or Contact Us

Over 1,500 pets were reported stolen in 2014, a 40% increase on previous years according to the Blue Cross. This figure is only set to rise further as stolen pets are seen as valuable assets.  They are traded on the black market, sold for fighting or held as ransom for rewards offered by owners desperate for their safe return.

Pet safety has never been more important and Murphy's Army promotes this by providing information and advice to owners.  A copy of our Pet Safety Information Sheet can be found here.

Murphy's Army promotes micro-chipping and compliance to the Micro-chipping of Dogs (England) Regulations 2015.   It is now compulsory for all dogs over the age of 8 weeks in England to be fitted with microchips. We have our own micro-chipping team who are Lantra trained, and can also put you in touch with other organisations offering free micro-chipping. Further information can be found here

Our fully qualified scanning team are available to scan found pets.  We do our best to meet every request.  However it is difficult to cover every area as we are sure you will appreciate. If you have your own scanner and would like to be added to our Scanner database please let us know.

We also offer our services to other groups so if you need a pet scanning we may have someone in the area.  Please do get in touch and we will do our utmost to accommodate your request.

Murphy's Army works in conjunction with independent and public sectors to identify, research, and initiate campaigns to resolve safety issues and hazards.

Murphy's Army does not offer rescue or re-homing facilities directly.  However if you know of a pet who is in need of rescue or re-homing due to sickness, injury, neglect or abuse please get in touch and we will do our best to put you in touch with organisations who can help.

Subject to certain criteria, we offer grants to other Animal Rescues to assist with veterinary bills, transport, and other related costs.  Please read our Grant Making Policy for more information or Contact Us
